The Single Girl Guide for a Fantastic Valentines Day

Wednesday, 11 February 2015

~ us ladies at Style x Beauty Department have a staunch belief that Valentines Day should be catered to everyone.  not centered around couples, or men spoiling their women but rather encouraging random acts of love. now that could sound quite risque to some ( you have dirty minds... and we love you) but what we mean by that is taking the time to do something for yourself, your family and or friends, or just random people.  We've put together a To Do List of fun things to do on Valentines Day to spread a little love, have a little fun and maybe spoil yourself too ~

Night Out

~ Valentines Day happens to be on a Saturday which is perfect for heading out on the town with your friends! while all the couples will be competing with each other for dinner reservations or the last bouquet of roses, you can have your girls over for a pampering session before a celebratory night on the town! put together a little gift bag like the one below with a sarcastic card from Paper Queen, a hydrating sheet mask from My Beauty Diary (find in the cosmetics section of T & T Supermarket), some Essie nail polishes, a new lip balm or two (Fresh Sugar Lip Balm)  and some delish candies/cookies (from Sweet Bake Shop)  to spread the love ~

Movie Night

~ invite your nearest and dearest over and have them bring with them their favorite snack ( sweet or savory it doesn't matter) and a movie with their celebrity crush in it

Secret Admirers

~ we all love getting a gift, so get your girls together and have a secret admirers gift exchange! draw names with gift ideas on the back, set a $ limit and have them delivered to one another on Valentines Day ~

Valentines Cards

~ hand out Valentines cards or notes to friends and co-workers to let them know how much they're valued or appreciated.  very third grade card exchange but it's fun!

Spread the Love

~ if you've ever wanted to volunteer, now's the time! use Valentines Day as your jumping off point to help others, for us Vancouverties, places like Families In Need Donation Center, your local SPCA, Working Gear Clothing Society are great places to start in the local community ~

~ Valentines Day can also be the day you start something new, something you've always wanted to do.  Always wanted to take cooking classes, yoga, an IT course to master the art of Excel.... or maybe just trying a new style of cuisine or restaurant ~

Indulge

~ the most popular activity and the one most highly encouraged is to indulge yourself for the day.  As Valentines Day is on a Saturday this year and unencumbered by work for some of us, if your indulgence consists of brunch at a new or favorite restaurant, a little retail therapy or spa service it's entirely do able!  We encourage you to make a list of the things you want to do to spoil yourself for the day and enjoy whether your single, or with family and friends ~

- wishing you all love and gratitude this Love Month, thank you for following and supporting us in our quest to bring all things pretty and beautiful to you!
