Racinne: An SBD Girl's Venture Into Korean Skincare

Friday 15 May 2015

~ a little known fact (or maybe very obvious to some) about us SBDGirl's is that we are product addicts, not just beauty products which is expected as makeup artists, but also skincare addicts.  maybe even a bit more than beauty addicts but on a different level.  we are always on the lookout for new face and eye masks, a new lip balm or serum that has the most hydrating texture and results. so when we stumbled onto Korean skincare line Racinne we had to give it a try!  Asian skincare has always been coveted for it's unique products not found in the Western market but more Korean specific skincare and makeup has been making it's way onto the market ( Miracle Cushion Foundation from Lancome, and Amore Pacific skincare) and here's a bit about the brand we are trying out before we give you the product specific details on each product!

~ most brands are trying to incorporate more biotechnology into their products these days by using plant enzymes or more essential oils but Korean skincare brands have been using biotechnology for decades.  Racinne believes that science and beauty are uniquely intertwined and have successfully honed the naturally regenerative powers of plant callus and functional peptides to deliver unique results for their clients.  read more about their Callus Cultivation Technology and Peptide production HERE.

~ they have 3 lines of concern specific skincare: Ultimate Aqua Blanc, Ultimate Hydra Perfection and Ultimate Youth Power Series, plus the Delicare line for easily irritated or sensitive skin. each line also has a set of samples you can order to try before buying the full size product, a fact which we LOVE and think more brands should be doing.

~ what we picked up:

~ Ultimate Hydra Perfection line combines grape callus and seaweed extract along with lemongrass extract (anti bacterial), maca root extract ( known to stimulate collagen production) lotus and cactus flower extract ( anti-inflammatory and prevents moisture loss). this line sounds like a great starter line for anyone looking to start the repair or prevention process towards first signs of aging.

~ Ultimate Aqua Blanc contains the lotus flower callus extract (repair and renew cells), pearl extract ( imbues minerals such as: calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron), royal jelly extract ( healing, moisturizing), cucumber and aloe leaf extract ( hydration and reduce water retention). this line sounds like a great place to start if you've started to see some discoloration in your skin.  sunspots, brown spots or acne scarring.

~ Ultimate Youth Power contains ginseng callus extract (healing and energizing), adenosine (increases elastin and collagen production), shea butter, Japanese pepper fruit extract ( repairs free radical damage) lichen extract (anti-inflammatory) and hyloronic acid (humectant that plumps fine lines). this line is what you want to use to repair deeper facial lines and loss of firmness.

~ we are very excited to take our journey into this Korean skincare line packed with fantastic ingredients and will be taking our lovely followers with us on this journey! stay tuned, as we will do a monthly report on each new product we try, giving you the pluses and minuses to each product.  in the meantime, if you want to try out Racinne check out their site and click HERE.
