SBD Review: { Fresh Seaberry Face Oil }

Monday 23 March 2015

~ in the land of skincare, there seems to be no bigger trend right now than the face oil.  it seems like every skincare line ( of the low budget and high) has introduced one or something similar.  for this SBDGirl it took awhile to warm up to the idea of oil on my normal to oily skin.  we've been ingrained to think that if you have oily skin you should be using oil free products at all times, or risk looking like a greasy mess. so after many trips to Sephora, The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart and Holt Renfrew and all while talking up various staff members I decided to give Fresh Seaberry Oil a try and here's what I think:

~ i love how this makes my dehydrated skin feel, I was very skeptical about using an oil and to be honest, i won't use this product in the summer but it gets the SBDGirl seal of approval for anyone that suffers from dry, conbination, normal to dry skin or if you just want a little bit of je ne sais quois in your fall/winter skincare routine.  i have normal to oily skin and i added this to my fall/winter skincare routine and noticed a remarkable difference in how nourished my skin felt after using it in the evening. i woke up to plump, glowy skin in the morning! i also felt like I didn't need as much moisturizer on my face, which means saving product which means saving money which means more to spend on SHOES!
~ but seriously, this stuff has some MAJOR ingredients in it that do amazing things for your complexion.  seaberry oil, also known as seabuckthorn oil, is a powerful antioxidant rich in moisturizing omegas 3, 6, 7 & 9 noted for protecting the skin from aging free radicals. which means, every time you apply this onto your skin you're shielding it from toxins that breakdown collagen and elastin.  therefore you're effectively stopping the aging process! also included in this cocktail are:
  • Cranberry seed oil, packed with omegas 3, 6 & 9 and vitamin E, is known to maintain the skin’s elasticity and smoothness.
  • Camellia seed oil, rich in omegas 6 & 9, helps to retain moisture and promote smooth, supple skin.
  • Grapeseed oil helps maintain optimal hydration levels.
  • Sweet almond oil helps to soften the skin.
~ so our SBDGirl rule of thumb when deciding on if or which brand of face oil to add to your routine is to look for a high concentration of natural oils that are high in omegas and antioxidants and is also thin to the touch.  nothing worse than slathering a thick oil all over your face in my personal opinion, especially if you're adding additional products on top.
~ when in doubt, definitely give this one a try, we know you won't be disappointed!
